Being a massive fan of the Terminator, I came across this T800 Endoskeleton piece on Amazon to put on my desk and decided to take the plunge. I was very surprised when it arrived, I didn’t think for just over £20 it would be any good in terms of build quality but I was wrong.
Its made from cast resin, finished in a metallic silver to give it a proper realistic look to how it does in the movies. The build quality is excellent with great attention to detail. The eyes don’t light up sadly, but if caught in correct lighting, it does give off the impression they are lit up.
The top section of the skull is removable and so couples up as a decent enough storage piece to keep smaller items in such as; spare keys, loose change and so on.
I’ve had mine for about 9 months now and none of the paint has come off and its still metal looking shiny as I got it on day 1.
I know there are more realistic versions of this on the market, which much beefier price tags, but for the price this thing looks excellent and would make a nice room / desk piece for any Terminator fan.
This is currently around £23 on Amazon right now – if your a Terminator fan and don’t own one, do yourself a favour and treat yourself, you won’t be disappointed. “I’ll be back”.
San Diego comic con 2016 is a wrap so lets take a look at some of the things we can expect to see on retailer’s shelves really soon:
NECA: NECA certainly had a large variety of goods on display and stock of these figures are confirmed to be shipping in the next 1-2 weeks. I’m not going to cover all of the items they had but will cover a few that I’m interested in. A lot of these can be pre-ordered in the UK for release at the end of August 2016. Heres some of my NECA favourites from this years comic-con:
1/4 Scale Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990 Movie) – The two sculptors behind these figures, Trevor Zammit and Jason Frailey, have done an incredible job. Just look at the detail on them, they look as if they’ve literally jumped out of the 90’s movie set. I did read something online about these only being available in the US. That being said, there are a couple of places in the UK you can still pre-orders these. I’ve pre-ordered Donny already as Turtles I and II were definitely up their with my favourite movies as a kid. Want to say a massive thanks to ”Eddie Holly” over on YouTube (check out his channel right here) for capturing the amazing footage of the figures at comic-con, and for allowing me to link his video here, check it out below:
The Collector: (Guardians of the Galaxy)
I guess it would make sense to kick start this ‘collectibles’ section by giving you all a little insight into not just why I like collecting the odd statue / figure from certain movies / games etc, but also where all this sparked from.
Before I begin, I’m going to change the title of this post from ”The Collector”, to ”The Collector: Origins” as it’s more fitting – there, that’s better. Now…
